Pacific Crest Samoyeds
Welcome to Pacific Crest Samoyeds, located near the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon. We run a small working kennel of Samoyeds who participate in a wide variety of activities. Our dogs consist of two males, and thus we are not breeders. During the winter our boys participate in skijor and sled races, recreational kick-sledding, dog sledding, and skijoring. In summer they backpack, hike, scooter, cart, and work on agility equipment while building muscle and stamina for the racing season. They are both also show dogs, and it gives us great pride to exhibit our hard working companions in the conformation ring.

Lightning is an outgoing, friendly, confident dog who is a joy to live with. His exceptional temperament is second to none. He excels in structure and is flawless moving. His powerful ground covering Side Gait, beautiful front, gorgeous V rear, flying trot, and correct coat make him a marvelous working partner and a head turning show dog.
At barely two years old, Lightning completed his Master Working Samoyed title (the 11th dog in history to do so), and finished his American Championship in style with back-to-back 5 Point Majors. He was Winner's Male at the 2001 Canadian National, and finished his Canadian Championship in 2006. Together with Nimbus he went BISS Brace at several specialties including the 2003 and 2004 National Specialties! Lightning has also earned earned the SCA and OWS Top Sled Dog Awards all three of the years he raced. He was Best In Show at the 2004 National Specialty, defeating over 500 other Samoyeds including most of the top show dogs in our breed. This single win brought him to the position of #4 Samoyed in the country in breed points. All this accomplished from very limited, owner-handled showing.
Pacific Crest has co-bred a lovely litter of Puppies, sired by our sensational dog Lightning. This special litter was born on August 6, 2007. We are very excited about these puppies, especially since one of them will soon become a part of our team.
Lightning is co-owned by his breeder Kay Hallberg of Wolf River Samoyeds. He is available at stud to approved bitches.

Nimbus is a hard worker in harness, and loves to pull alongside his older brother Lightning. Although strong and powerful, he is also a gentle dog who loves to snuggle and gently carry stuffed animals in his mouth. Like Lightning, he has wonderful side-gait, an effortless trot with correct V rear, and single tracks beautifully.
Nimbus has done well in highly competitive limited showing, going Reserve Winner's Dog at several Specialties, Best Puppy in Sweeps at the SCSD Specialty, Best Opposite in Sweeps and Winner's Dog at the SCWS Specialty for his first major. Together with Lightning he went BISS Brace at several specialties including the 2003 & 2004 National Specialties! Nimbus earned his Working Samoyed Excellent title at 1.5 years old and won the SCA Top Sled Dog Award all three years he raced.
