Best In Show National Specialty Brace

Am/Can Ch. Wolf River's Moonlight Ridge* (Lightning,
front) and Ch. Wolf River's Thunder Cloud** (Nimbus,
rear) entered two Specialties in the Brace Class during 2003. They were Best In
Show Specialty Brace at each event! They won at the Nor-Cal Specialty under
breeder-judge Judi Elford, and at the prestigious Samoyed Club of America
National Specialty under judge Judith Goodin. The following year they won the
National Specialty Brace event again (2004) under breeder-judge Mardee
Ward-Fanning!
Brace is when two dogs are shown side by side together. As with all conformation entries, brace entries are to be judged by how closely each dog adheres to the Standard for their breed. A brace is further judged by how similarly the pair of dogs are to each other, in movement and while standing.
Lightning and Nimbus have run many hundreds of miles in harness together, and know how to move together. They looked as if they were a single dog when gaiting around the ring and standing for inspection.
